Day 586, 12-2-24, 19.9 km walked from Montefiascone to Bolsena. I decided to mainly walk along the SS 2 along the lake, the sun shone for most of the day, beautiful views!
And I enjoyed walking, phoned with friends and family, in the end I went right!
I got to Bolsena and saw a big church, and was already intrigued by the signs along the road saying there had been a miracle here in 1200 and something,
A host ( the sacred piece of bread) had started bleeding apparently! The pope came along and it was quite something!
Anyway a beautiful church with catacomben underneath, which I visited, no bodies in these thankfully!
There was another holy girl, Christine
All the female Martyrs seem to be young girls?
I found a place to sleep with the nuns, wandered around the medieval place a bit but the temperature dropped again.
