Day 601, 27-2-24, 7km walked from that lovely spot on the top of the hill to Gambassi Terme.
I woke at 6 after many dreams, wrote my insta and was getting ready for an early start and then it started raining heavily again! So I decided against it when around 9 it stopped So I packed everything in the tent away and when it was still not rainy I packed away the soaking tent put on my raingear and started walking, the hills were steep and had turned into mud rivers, it was hard work to not go skidding down!
After 2 hours it started again, by the time I got to Gambassi Terme I was soaked, (my umbrella doesn’t really deserve that name any more!) .
I went into a Pelgrims cafe and was a little embarrassed by my muddy boots and wet attire, but I was welcome nonetheless, I had soup and coffee.
And I booked a place to stay! A little above budget but I’m so glad I didn’t stay another night in the puddle inbetween those benches!
(Check my website if you want to sponsor me www.thewalkinghomeproject.eu). Also I have many artworks still for adoption for a monthly sum, contact me If interested.
The reception at casa di Silvia was amazing she brought me (vegan) soup and cake! Thank you Silvia!
I dried all my stuff and cooked for taking away with me, showered and slept!
