Day 608, 5-3-24, 16,9 km walked in Florence.
First I went to take Arlette to Guiseppes house (took the tram) and then to the Uffizi Gallery, I passed by a flea market and found some old pictures! I looove old pictures they are many stories caught in time.
Uffizi Gallery is home to many great Artworks and it is an artwork in itself too!
I saw more Caravaggio and lots of Botticelli, Rembrandt and even saw a work from a man from ‘s-Hertogenbosch! Jan Soens. Another Ai weiwei (a selfportrait in Lego).
It cost me an arm and a leg but It was well worth it, but then I thought to have a coffee on the rooftop terrace but when I saw the prices I thought I’d wait! (4€ for an espresso! Normally €1.10 here).
I went over the ponte Vecchio again (so amazing) and had a miso soup in a lovely vegetarian place Carduccio il carlotto bio
Run by a capable young woman, nice.
Then back to Giuseppe via the Lidl
Food and bed!
Thank you Giuseppe! You are amazing! Hope to meet you again on one of my or your walks!
And today I’m heading out again!
Hoping I’ll manage! To Bologna
