Day 716, 21-6-24, 16.6 km walked from Židovice to Terezin (Theresienstadt).
Started with a Swim and wash in the Elbe
And was walking by 8,30. I seem to be losing my momentum and getting slower and slower. I left the Elbe to visit Terezin a fortified town, that the Nazis used as a concentration camp and Ghetto.
With Political prisoners and Jewish people.
Very impressive, to read ‘Arbeit macht Frei’, and to see the spaces where too many people were kept in small prisons cells. ( all with that what is happening in Palestina at the moment in my head… Never Again? )
After my visit I walked towards the rest of the fortress, contemplating what I would do next, when it started raining, I found an hotel quickly! And at check inn I met a Swiss chap that I had a drink with and then dinner (vegan in Czech Republic!!! Not easy)
And then a walk around town, all the buildings are in a terrible state so sad to see! There is an other museum that I want to visit this morning (hope to see the film the Nazi’s made in ‘44 to show how well the Jews were treated…
And then decide on route!
