Day 14, 3.5 km walked.
Yesterday was a Walking Home Project day, but not full blast.
I took my time getting ready, walked Sybille l’atelier mobile to GC De Rinck in Anderlecht to fill in the missing bit of my spiral ( today)— and tonight I’m staying at my friend Anna’s workshop. Tomorrow we’ll have an indoor day together, which I’m really looking forward to.
But honestly? Yesterday felt a bit like spiraling in a different sense.
I parked Sybille and then just… sat on a terrace in the sunshine and had a coffee and did nothing. It was National Playing Outside Day or something, kids everywhere, and I just didn’t feel like I could add anything to that story. So I didn’t.
And that was okay.
I’m really struggling with the participatory side of things lately. I feel like I’m cheating somehow. And sometimes it’s just hard to be all of it at once — the walker, the artist, the PR person, the everything.
So I gave myself permission to just sit in the sun.
But — I did add to my spiral. And I came across the most beautiful mosaics embedded in the pavement in front of people’s houses — little portraits of the people who live there. I really loved that.
84 km total and counting. Check out the spiral map. 🌀
