Day 42, 30-6, 10.7 km walked on the spiral (15.4 total)
I got going quite late and had to get to the next place, GC De Maalbeek, because that’s near to where I’ll be today, by 5, so that was quite something! It meant I couldn’t really stop very long in places to get out my machine and work. I did a little work sorting stuff out here and there.
Finding some interesting stuff, and meeting some lovely people. For example Johanna and Steven, next to this beautiful 600-year-old chapel. She didn’t know the word for home in Cape Verdean (where she is originally from) but she knew how to say ‘I love you very much’ in Lingala, so that’s what she wrote on Sybille!
She offered me a candle to light, to say a little prayer to Mary. So sweet.
I walked a steady pace, a lot of it uphill!
Came across the cemetery of Ixelles, where the gardeners loved my cart, Sybille.
Then I passed the ULB, Université Libre de Bruxelles, followed by the VUB, Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
I asked my question to one young woman who said: Friends. I live with some really good friends and that makes me feel right at home.
I took lots of pictures, there were some places that were new for me!
The temperature dropped. It was still hot, especially pushing Sybille uphill, but not quite as unbearable as last week!
