Cold start. The map wasn’t cooperating, but I think I’ve finally cracked it.
Walking next to the hospital — and suddenly it felt like the countryside. Two donkeys. Gorgeous flowers. Children heading somewhere with their rucksacks.
Met a lovely woman from Finland. I asked her: “What do you need to feel at home?” “Nature,” she said. She’s sensitive to electromagnetic fields — and nature helps. She gave me her Jehovah’s Witness card and said: God doesn’t want us to fight. He gave us the world to take care of it. I said: most of our problems come from humanity feeling superior.
Then Dewi (Welsh for David) and Charlotte, from Ottignies — walking the same green path along the circular route around Brussels. I asked what makes them feel at home. “Green spaces,” they said. The birds in particular. Because birds help them disconnect from the outer world and turn inward — without too much distraction. Lovely people.
The route home was too much for one day. Sybille l’atelier mobile is heavy. (Not fatshaming.)
I called Vincent. He cycled out to meet me and pulled Sybille l’atelier mobile home. He treated me to soup and tea in the Westland shopping centre. I really dislike such consumer palaces. But it was lovely that he came. ❤️
Seven days in. I’m learning a lot. Especially letting go — of expectations, of what I think others might want or need. One step at a time.
Easter break next. Then: Zinneke stuff, subsidies, the Parcours d’Artistes, and some work to get online. And making Sybille l’atelier mobile lighter
